Monday Memo, October 12, 2020

Hey Valley! Fall for me usually means a return to routine, but this season has been an advance in ministry. As you saw this weekend, there is so much happening at Valley! My hope is to keep this short and clear so you know how to engage in the various opportunities before us.

  • First of all, this past weekend we were introduced to Kevin and Rachel. I am excited about this missions partnership and I know many of you are eager to connect with them. The best way to do so is to visit www.kevinandrachelperry.com. The site is password protected so if you want access connect with the staff at Valley and we will share it with you. In his message he challenged us to set our alarms for 9:38 (am & pm) and to pray for more workers when the alarm sounds. I hope you will join in on that and also memorize the verse it refers to (see below). I also hope you will consider praying for the Perrys and maybe even supporting the financially as they prepare to head to Austria in the New Year. (Also, you can find the sermon here and his notes here).

  • Second, Valley has the privilege to encourage the first responders who serve at Longview Fire. We have a list on names and this coming weekend there will be the opportunity to write cards to each of them. If are viewing our services from home, simply email office@vcflongview.org and we will give you specific first responders you can encourage.

  • Third, this coming Sunday after the 11am service is the informational meeting for the Good News Clubs that Valley will be hosting and serving at next month. This is a great ministry and I look forward to seeing how God uses those willing to serve in the lives of kids in our community.

  • Also, Andrew and I recorded a podcast about family discipleship. It will be uploaded a bit later today and I think you will find it very helpful!

  • Finally, our Church Family Gathering is October 25, 6:30-8 pm. We are still working on how to make this work for everyone but details will be coming out so you can participate through zoom and maybe even from both the PWC and Heights. As the plan is finalized I will update you. This will be a wonderful evening of celebrating God's faithfulness, sharing in communion and looking at the coming year, including the 2021 budget and ministry priorities.

Loving People Toward Jesus,

Pastor Mike www.vcflongview.org
