Monday Memo, October 26, 2020

Hey Valley! Let me start with a BIG THANK YOU to those who were able to set up our zoom/simulcast family gathering last night. It was encouraging for me to celebrate the faithfulness of God over this past year and to share communion. I am also thankful for the unity we have and the vision for 2021 as we work together to expand the way we serve our community and impact the world. Linda sent out the budget narrative at the end of last week so the cliff notes for last night and our approved 2021 budget are:
Adding an additional associate pastor to serve in youth and worship ministry
Continued payments on debt that are greater than minimum required
Increased contingency fund, some of which will be allocated to building maintenance improvements.
Additionally, I spoke briefly about "Invitational Discipleship" which Andrew and I recently recorded a podcast covering this plan. I would love for you to give it a listen and consider the relationships God has given you where you can grow as a disciple-maker. Finally, this weekend we examined the next few lines of the Apostle's Creed which speak to Jesus's suffering and ultimately answered the question, "Why did Jesus need to die?" If you did not get a chance to listen please do. This truth is transformational for everyone who believes. Sermon will be uploaded to here shortly and the notes are here.
